VisualSVN Server Installation freezes on VirtualPC

Symptoms

VisualSVN Server installation on VirtualPC may freeze with following message:

Please wait while the installer finishes determining your disk space requirements.

Cause

This problem caused by VirtualPC Virtual Machine Add-ons.

Workaround 1

  1. Uninstall the Virtual Machine Add-ons.
  2. Install VisualSVN Server.
  3. Reinstall the Virtual Machine Add-ons.

Workaround 2

Another way to workaround this issue is install VisualSVN Server in reduced UI mode using following command:

msiexec /i VisualSVN-Server-2.0.6.msi /qr
